Welcome to the USS Nautilus NCC-853962!

The year is 2384, and welcome aboard the USS Nautilus, a Ronin class Strike Cruiser tasked with exploring the area of space around the crumbling Dominion in the Gamma Quadrant.

Space the final frontier...

The Dominion War is a thing of the past. It has been nine years since the bloodiest conflict in recent memory and the Federation stands on the precipice of uncertainty. While the Klingon, Cardassian and Romulan Empires lay in ruin following the Borg offensive of 2381, and the Dominion, an entity that has existed for thousands of years, has begun to crumble under its own weight, new enemies, new dangers emerge. Entities like the Typhon Pact and the Scarlet Hand, have begun to fill the void created by this decline. While peace is finally a possibility, with the Federation the dominant power in the known galaxy that doesn't mean that there is no danger however. This is space after all and space is a dangerous place.

For the first time since First Contact with the Dominion, the Federation once more has a presence in the Gamma Quadrant, though not entirely diplomatic. The Federation turns to Peace Enforcement, to ensure that the Dominion adheres to the terms of the surrender, while also exploring a region of space otherwise unknown to them.

The USS Nautilus is at the forefront of this new mission. One part Warship, one part Peacemaker. There is no illusions, the Nautilus is a ship of war, like many of her namesakes. But this new Nautilus travels the stars, protecting those who cannot protect themselves, and to push back the boundaries of the frontier.

Even if trouble finds her, the Nautilus is very much a ship of peace. She is an explorer, a diplomat, but one that can defend herself if necessary. She is the largest ship to bear the name, and like many of her namesakes, she is on the very forefront of an ever changing galaxy.

Do you have what it takes to serve as a member of the USS Nautilus, a Ronin Class Strike Cruiser? The days of exploration are not over but this vessel was built with another purpose in mind. Join the Nautilus and her crew as the defend the ideals of the United Federation of Planets, brave the final frontier.

» A Change in the Guard

Posted on Mon Jul 21st, 2014 @ 12:19pm by Captain Tobias Renshaw in General News

With deep regret I must announce that Chris Reeder, our gallant XO, has had to step down from the position due to a change in work commitments.
While he has resigned from the post, I have not accepted his resignation from the sim.

While we have always stated that the Real world comes first, I have given Chris the option if he should take it, to continue posting as his secondary position as SRU pilot.

Peter Hough (Lt Killpatrick) has stepped up to fill the XO position in the interim.

We also welcome Vladimir Gustav to the crew as our new Chief Engineer.

Hopefully he will last longer than the others :)

Also keep up the good work, I am seeing a lot of good posts, and remember if you ever need LOA or whatever, let me know, but remember, the Nautilus does adhere to a post per week methodology.

I know I haven't been strict with this in the past, but that is going to change.

Hey gang.

I am very proud to announce that with the posting of Escape (and Contact) Mission 4 is finished.

it took three weeks to write those massive posts, which as me thinking about the notion of mass posts vs how active the site looks.

While I was glad that you were on the site every other day and made contributions to the posts, I think we need to assess something in regards to that.

Anywho, that mission is finally over and not a minute too soon.
